Fiorentina De Biasi was born in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples, Italy). She studied at DAMS (Department of Art, Music and Entertaining) at Bologna University under Umberto Eco. She graduated in 1999. After experimenting with painting, she is now performing photo collage. Each image that emerges seems to recount continuous journey between urban scenarios and contemporary mitography where the distance and detachment of any photographic souvenir have been broken in pieces and liberally and uninterruptedly recomposed and rearranged. The observer's sight and the photographic reproduction become vision, a fractured and oblique vision, so deep as to reveal possible senses and ulterior meanings. As a result, when looking at these frames, it is not uncommon to experience the same astonished feeling the Kublai Khan had when receiving Marco Polo and his descriptions of the fantastic and invisible cities.
